Mother's Day: A light that serves as a guide

The second Sunday of May is reserved specifically for the celebration of Mother's Day, which is recognized as a national holiday to pay tribute to mothers. In 1908, Anna Jarvis created a memorial for her mother, Ann Jarvis, who was a peace campaigner and used to care for the injured soldiers of the American Civil War. This was the beginning of the modern celebration of Mother's Day, which is still celebrated today. Mother's Day is a holiday that is celebrated in many areas of the world as a way to show appreciation, respect, and admiration for moms. The day is a celebration to recognize the important role that mothers play in our culture and society, as well as the contributions that mothers have made to the world.

We celebrate Mother's Day in the Philippines by simply greeting mothers and giving them with small gifts, chocolates, and letters. Either we prepare our meals at home or we go out to eat at local restaurants, go for a walk, and have a lot of fun. Also greeting them on video calls when they're outside of the country. To show our moms how much we appreciate them, we need to make every day seem as wonderful as Mother's Day does. It is important that we recognize all of the big and tiny things that our mothers do for us on a daily basis. There is no other present that may be more meaningful to a mother than the love and respect that they get from their children.

Mothers play an essential part in the functioning of the family, which is a powerful place for maintaining social peace and balance. Here in the Philippines we call our mothers as "Ilaw ng tahanan" which means will specifically refer to each and every one of our mothers. They are incredibly helpful to our children and show them a lot of love. Moms, and grandmothers are entrusted with a great deal of responsibility. We are able to sense the love that they have for us. They make sacrifices for the sake of our family, helping to preserve our unity and even ensuring that our houses are kept clean.
